William Guthrie Hurt

William G. "Bill" Hurt, age 64, of Royal Oaks Drive, N.E., Rome, GA. passed away early Thursday morning, November 4th, 2010 at a Rome hospital.

A native of Glasgow, Kentucky, Bill was born on April 23rd, 1946, the son of the late Clarence Ernest Hurt and the late Clara Mae Maloney Hurt. He was a Vietnam veteran having served in the United States Army. Bill was of the Catholic Faith and prior to his retirement was associated with General Electric for 35 years. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Larch Hurt to whom he was married on August 9th, 1985; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Shane and Danni Bata and Shannon and Rebekah Bata all of Rome; 3 grandchildren, Brette, Brayden and Berlin Bata. Nieces and nephews also survive.

The family of William G. "Bill" Hurt will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, November 7th, 2010 from 4 o'clock until 6 o'clock at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home in Rome, Georgia.
