William Allen Pops Routt

Mr. William Allen 'Pops' Routt, age 71, of Rome, GA, passed away on Wednesday evening, May 3, 2017.

Pops was born in Soddy, TN, on August 7, 1945, a son of the late Jack Allen Routt and Ruth Alice Lasley Routt. He was an entrepreneur, starting and managing several local businesses, most recently, CrossFit Chariot of Rome. Pops was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Pops is survived by his wife, Debbie Imbeau Routt, whom he married on July 25, 1980; four sons and daughters-in-law, Travis and Stacie Routt of Jupiter, FL, Kyle and Carrie Routt of Lynn Haven, FL, Lance Routt of Panama City, FL, and Alex and Anna Routt of Rome; ten grandchildren, Amanda Routt, Megan Routt, Emily Routt, Aly Routt, Carly Mathis, Riley Routt, Trey Routt, Logan Routt, Samson Routt and Sadie Routt; one sister, Sarah Kazmier and her husband Bob of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Scott Routt and his wife Carol of Decatur, TN. Several nieces, nephews and other relative and friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday morning, May 6, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian Church at Rome with Pastor Brad Dillard officiating. The family will be available for friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the church.
