Vernon Willard Buster Worley, Jr

Vernon Willard "Buster" Worley, Jr., age 69, of #128 Keown Road S.E., Rome, died Thursday evening, October 1st, 2009 at a local hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Mr. Worley was born on June 20th, 1940, the son of the late Vernon Willard Worley, Sr. and the late Juanita K. Worley Garner. He was a 1958 graduate of Model High School and was a member of the North Broad Baptist Church. Mr. Worley was member of Oostanaula Masonic Lodge #113, the Rome Shrine Club and the Yaarab Shrine Temple of Atlanta. For a period of time he was associated with General Electric of Rome and Trend Mills as a truck driver. Mr. Worley was owned and operated a used car dealership in Rome and was owner and operator of Buster's Bonding Company in Rome. Mr. Worley was preceded in death by a brother Michael Worley in 2001.
Survivors include 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Paul Casey and Brooke and Chris Mercer all of Rome; 4 grandchildren Dylan Casey, Preston Casey, Lauren Mercer and Aston Mercer; 1 sister, and brother-in-law, Wanda and James Roland of Atlanta.
Funeral services for Vernon Willard "Buster" Worley, Jr. will be held on Sunday afternoon, October 4th, 2009 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Rev. David Thornton officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery with Oostanaula Masonic Lodge #113 F&AM conducting Masonic graveside rites. Members of Oostanaula Masonic Lodge are requested to meet at the lodge 1 hour prior to funeral services.
Mr. Worley will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Saturday) evening from 6 until 10 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
Active pallbearers will include Bradley Robinson, Jerry Butler, Chris Mercer, David Sims, Dylan Casey, James Roland, Steven Cochran and Don Kinney. Members of the Rome Shrine Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.
