Thomas D. "Tom" Hash, age 76, of the Old Dalton Road, Rome, passed away early Saturday morning, June 22, 2013, at the residence.
Mr. Hash was a native of Quebeck, TN, born on March 12, 1937, the son of the late Elmer S. and Nana Lou Terry Hash. Mr. Hash had been a resident of Rome since 1979, moving here from Quebeck. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the United States Army as a Nuclear Weapons Technician (held secret clearance). Tom was a retired tool and die machinist having been associated with Wagner Electric Corp. in Sparta, TN, with Alabama Machine and Tool Co. in Huntsville, Al, with Avco in Nashville, TN, and Charleston, SC, and Spaco, Inc. in Huntsville. Tom was a lifetime member of Volcher #1229 Forty and Eight, the American Legion Paul Gwin Post #47 in Calhoun, GA, and The Fraternal Order Of The Eagles in Huntsville.
Survivors include his companion of 50 years, Pat Sutler; one son, Thomas Hash (Carrie) of Resaca, GA; two grandsons, Benjamin Thomas Hash and his fianc, Sarah, and Joshua Thomas Hash; two sisters, Judy Luna (Amerce) of Quebeck, and Margaret Golden (Denny) of Cicero, MI. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services for Thomas D. "Tom" hash will be held Tuesday evening, June 25, 2013, at 8:00 p.m. in the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Chaplain Orville Howard officiating. Interment will follow later in the family lot of the Jericho Cemetery in Quebeck, TN.
The family will receive friends at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. At other hours they will be at the residence.
Military Honors will be accorded by Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 of the American Legion Honor Guard on Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family request the memorial contributions be made to Chapter #1229 of Forty and Eight for Nurses Training, c/o Neal Meyers, $26 Woodbine Court, White, GA, 30184.
