Texie Wilma (Texie Lee) Elkins Buffington
Born in the foot hills of Franklin, NC, April 29, 1937 and died July 1, 2016 was the daughter of Vernia Mae and Ralph Elkins.
Texie was preceded in death by her mother, grandmother and sister Linda Peterson.
She is survived by her children Shelia Lee Buffington (Jimmy "James") Knowles, Danny A (Patsy A.) Buffington, Scotty Buffington, Ken Buffington; three grandchildren, Dusty Alexander, Christopher (Elaina) Knowles, Daniel Buffington; two great grandchildren, Andrew James Knowles, Domanick Knowles; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Dan (Gail) Elkins, Herman (Darleen) Elkins, Howard Elkins, Shirleen Charles, Wayne Elkins, Vance Elkins; her ex-husband of 25 years James A. Buffington.
She was a one in a million; a Godly woman, a mother, a friend, a wife, a sister, a True Child of God. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that who so ever believeth in him shall not parish but have everlasting life.
The Bible teaches us that our days are not promised and we should live our lives according to Gods will. This is exactly the life of Texie Buffington. Texie lived her life as a gospel for the word of God teaching his message with every breath always living his word. She showed her family love putting them above her own needs. Texie Buffington became an angel in heaven on July 1, 2016 at 4:20 p.m.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from Noon until 2:00 pm at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with burial at Floyd Memory Gardens.
