Teresa Ann Ray

Teresa Ann Ray, age 59, of North Avery Road, Rome, (The Coosa Community) passed away on Wednesday afternoon, June 8th, 2011 at a Rome hospital.

A native of Floyd County, Teresa was born on July 1st, 1951, the daughter of the late Travis Stanley "Pat" Brackett and the late Louise Babb Brackett. She was a 1969 graduate of West Rome High School and a graduate Coosa Valley Tech. Teresa was a member of the Pisgah Baptist Church and for 13 years was associated with Coosa Country Club as an office administrator. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Wayne Cain in 2003.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Ray to whom she was married on June 22nd, 2002; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Karen Smith of Conyers, GA.; 1 step-son, Patrick Ray and his wife, Jennifer of Rome; a step-daughter, Elizabeth Wilkins and her husband, Rev. Larry Wilkins, Jr. of Rome; 7 grandchildren, Fiona Smith, Grant Smith, Caleb Ray, Zachery Ray, Hayden Ray, Malichi Wilkins and Hosanna Grace Wilkins; 1 brother, Ronnie Brackett and his wife Ginger of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Teresa Ann Ray will be held on Saturday morning, June 11th, 2011 at 11 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Wilkins, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

Teresa will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Friday) evening from 7 until 9 o'clock.
