Steve F. Jones

Steve F. Jones age 67, of Rome passed away on March 8, 2015. Steve was born in Floyd Co, January 6, 1948. He attended Model High where he excelled as a Pitcher in Baseball and was nicknamed, 'Stevie No-Hit Jones'. Drafted by the US Army, 1967, he served combat duty in Vietnam from 1968-1969. Prior to retirement he worked in the Chemical Lab at Bekeart. He was a member of Shannon United Methodist Church, Shannon Masonic Lodge, American Legion and Paralyzed Veterans of America. Steve was an avid Hunter and fisherman and was blessed by having many faithful friends that helped him to continue to enjoy the outdoors.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Branton Jones, Daughter Stacy Jones Rush, Son-In Law, Dr. Kyle Rush and grandson, Carter Branton Rush, several special friends and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, H. Hulon Jones and Dora Jean Dutton Jones, and grandson, Jacob Tyler Rush.

Visitation will from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Tuesday, March 10 at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral will be on Tuesday also at 3:00pm at the funeral home. There will be a private burial following.
