Stanley Ray Shelton

Stanley Ray Shelton, age 53, of #1330 Bells Ferry Road, NE, Rome, GA. passed away on Saturday morning, December 18th, 2010 at a Rome hospital.

Stanley was born on November 22nd, 1957 in Lake Toxway, N.C., the son of Delma Gean Brown Shelton and the late Vernon David Shelton who passed away on April 1st, 2010. Stanley attended Model High School and was of the Baptist Faith. Prior to ill health Stanley was associated with Bud Self Construction as a welder.

Survivors include his wife, Sonya Fay Smith Shelton, his mother, Mrs. Delma Brown Shelton of Rome; 2 sisters, Lavern Shelton and Carolynn Shelton both of Rome; 2 brothers, Verneic Shelton and Roger Shelton both of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Stanley Ray Shelton will be held on Monday afternoon, December 20th, 2010 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Jody Brock officiating. Interment will follow in Morning View Cemetery.

The following will serve as active pallbearers, Bud Self, Mark Self, Steve Camp, Allen White, Scotty Henderson and Randy McBurnett.

The family will receive friends at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel this (Sunday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.

Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel has charge of the funeral arrangements for Stanley Ray Shelton.
