Shannon Deon Godfrey, age 32, of #8 Woodcliff Drive NE, Rome, passed away early Sunday morning, February 18th, 2007, at the residence.
A native of Floyd County, Shannon was born on October 11th, 1974, the daughter of Mack and Louise Allmon Godfrey. She had spent her entire life in Floyd County and attended the First Baptist Church of Shannon. Shannon attended the Cerebral Palsy School and Garden Lakes Elementary School. Shannon was preceded in death by a grandfather, Roland Godfrey in January 2000.
Survivors include her parents, Mack and Louise Godfrey, a brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Melissa Godfrey of Rome; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Allmon of Rome and Mrs. Jimmie Godfrey of Coosa; nieces and nephews, Ashlan, Collan and Sydney Godfrey. Aunts and uncles also survive.
Funeral services for Shannon Deon Godfrey will be held on Tuesday morning, February 20th, 2007, at 11 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry McCoy, Rev. Bobby Stephens and Rev. Hoyt Coker officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of Morning View Cemetery.
Active pallbearers include Jimmy Kerce, Ronnie Sharpe, Tommy Armstrong, George Fowler, Rickey Allmon and Clifford Casey.
Shannon will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Monday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
