Sarah Lee Owen

Sarah Lee Wooten Owen, age 85, of Rome passed away on Monday, February 4th, 2013 at a Rome hospital.

A native of Fort Payne, Alabama, Mrs. Owen was born on November 27th, 1927, the daughter of the late William J. and Azalee Evans Wooten. Mrs. Owen had spent the greater part of her life in Rome and Floyd County and was a member of the Community Fellowship Baptist Church of Rome. She was a member of the Etowah Chapter #30 Order of Eastern Star and prior to her retirement, Mrs. Owen was associated with K-mart. Mrs. Owen was married on October 1st, 1965 to Robert Lee "Bob" Owen who preceded her in death on July 12th, 1999.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Morgan Smith of Rockmart, GA.; 3 sons, Robert Ted Morgan and his wife, Jane of West Columbia, S.C., Gary Dale Morgan and his wife, Cathy of Locust Grove, GA. and Stephen Bernard Owen of Rome; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren also survive as do 2 step-daughters, Linda Owen Stovall of Armuchee and Cathy Arnold of Rome. Step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Sarah Lee Wooten Owen will be held on Thursday afternoon, February 7th, 2013, at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Dr. Billy J. Goolesby and the Reverend Don Peace officiating with interment to follow in the family lot of Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Owen will remain at Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Wednesday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock.
