Ms. Sarah Laraine Alford, age 33, of Rome, GA, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023.
Ms. Alford was born on August 20, 1989 in Rome, GA, to her loving parents: Allison Kirk Alford and Jill Hufstetler. She was 8 pounds 6 Oz and 20 inches long. She was truly a perfect baby and brought new joy and melody, and her dad said livened up the Alford home. She attended Model schools and graduated from Model HS in May 2007. She graduated magna cum laude from Kennesaw State University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. She asked Jesus into her heart at a young age while at home and memorizing AWANA Bible verses. We made up song tunes to help her memorize the Words. She attended Sunday School and Church, and later professed her Salvation through baptism at Enon Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Children's Choir. She took ballet, piano, and played many sports. She loved basketball and played on many winning teams over the years, winning many titles and awards and was inducted into the Rome/Floyd Student Athlete Hall of Fame. She loved God's nature and hiking and once endeavored to see every waterfall in Georgia. Everywhere she lived, she decorated with her artwork, macrame creations, and her love for plants and flowers. She also cherished her precious Japanese Chin, Dexter.
She loved both of her dear brothers, Nathan and Marcus and her grandma so much. She loved her many uncles and aunts and spent her childhood playing with her Joy Huf compound cousins.
Ms. Alford was preceded in death by her loving father, Kirk Alford, her baby brother, Jared; grandmother, Barbara Alford and grandfather, Allison Alford; and grandfather, Hollis Sherman Hufstetler. She loved and grieved for her father and is now with him and her baby brother in Heaven.
Sarah is survived by her loving mother, Jill Alford (Terry Downs) of Rome, GA; brothers: Nathan Alford of Rome, GA, and Marcus Alford of Ringgold, GA; grandmother, Joyce Hufstetler of Rome, GA and a number of other loving family members, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral Services for Ms. Alford will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Salmon Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Hufstetler officiating and Marcus Alford delivering a eulogy. A private interment will follow with the following gentleman serving as pallbearers: Nathan Alford, Marcus Alford, Adam Alford, Jonathan Hufstetler, Caleb Hufstetler and Chase Teague.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the service begins at 2:00 PM. For those that are unable to attend the service in person, the funeral service will be livestreamed and can be accessed below.
