Sara Frances Studdard

Mrs. Sara Frances (Frankie) Studdard, age 78 of Silver Creek, passed away Friday October 11th surrounded by family. Mrs. Studdard was born February 5th, 1946, in Rome, Georgia, daughter of the late Joseph William (Bill) Rickman, Jr.  and Sara Madeline Rickman. A graduate of Armuchee High School, she was the first homecoming queen in school history, in 1963. Frankie was married for 55 years to the late Rev Glen Studdard. They had four children. She retired from Sara Lee Bakery (Currently Tyson Foods) and served by her husband’s side in ministry for 46 years. 

Frankie was preceded in death by a grandson, Jordan Kennedy Sledge; brothers: Robert (Skeet) Rickman, Charlie Rickman, and a son-in-law, Ty Sledge. 

Survivors include her children, Michelle (Dewayne) Sweatt (Glencoe), Donna Sledge (Silver Creek), Jill (Todd) Sledge (Silver Creek), Rev. Doug (Tara) Studdard Jr. (Cochran); sisters, Jannel (Johnny) Minshew, Glenda Shuler, Cindy Corbin; brothers, Tommy (Debbie) Rickman, and Billy (Nelda) Rickman; grandchildren, Brooke Sweatt, Ashton Sweatt (Thomas Wright), Dustin Sledge (Jordan Salmon), Drew (Elise) Sledge, Skyler Sledge (Brooke Boozer), Kyle Studdard, Hannah Studdard and Brent Fowler; great grandchildren, Brylan Sweatt, AJ Sweatt, Krymson Fowler, Olivia Jones, Mila Ortiz, Memphis Sledge, Thomas (TJ) Wright Jr. and Sara Frances Sledge; several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Funeral services for Frankie will be held on Wednesday afternoon, October 16, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Reverend Doug Studdard officiating. A private interment will follow  the service in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. 

Frankie’s family will receive friends at Salmon Funeral Home Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour.
