Sara Ruth Mitchell

Sara Ruth Mitchell, age 76, of #4447 Martha Berry Highway, NW, Rome, GA. died Thursday afternoon, September 23rd, 2010 at a local hospital.

A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Mitchell was born on June 19th, 1934, the daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Sara Marguerite Yarbrough Dunaway. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Dunaway and by a brother, Bobby Dunaway. Mrs. Mitchell was married on September 21st, 1950 to Willie Newton Mitchell, who preceded her in death on September 24th, 1990.

Survivors include 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Sara Ann and Larry Lynch of Rome and Betty and Glenn Grigsby of Armuchee; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Thomas N. and Linda Mitchell of Rome; 5 grandchildren, Lori Cooper and Angela Worsham both of Rome, April E. Perry of Dallas, GA, Natalie and Tammy Flemmings both of Austin, TX.; 9 great-grandchildren also survive as do a sister-in-law, Dorothy Dunaway of Rome; 2 nieces, Joyce Price and Brenda Bray and 2 nephews, Jerry Brown and Buddy Dunaway.

Private graveside and interment services for Sara Ruth Mitchell will be held this (Saturday) afternoon, September 25th, 2010 at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Edward E. Holsomback officiating.
