Sara Margaret Molene Cordle

Mrs. Molene Caldwell Cordle, age 93, of 5127 Big Texas Valley Road, Rome, died Friday afternoon, September 29th, 2006, at her residence.
Mrs. Cordle was born on February 16th, 1913, the daughter of the late Alfred Frank Caldwell and the late Elizabeth Margaret Yarbrough Caldwell. She was a long time member of the Midway Primitive Baptist Church and attended the Antioch Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. For many years Mrs. Cordle was a member of the Texas Valley Homemakers Associations. Prior to her retirement she was employed at the Armuchee School cafeteria where she was known for her delicious rolls. Mrs. Cordle loved her family, fishing and traveling. Mrs. Cordle was preceded in death by her parents and step-mother, Viola Caldwell, mother-in-law, Ioma Cordle, and by 4 brothers, Griffin, Preston, Albert and Clarence Caldwell. Mrs. Cordle was married on April 14th, 1935 to Richard C. Cordle who preceded her in death on May 11th, 1994.
Survivors include 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Wayne Green, Temple and John Espy, Joy and Randy Gulledge and Kay and Stan Dixon, a son and "favorite" daughter-in-law, J.C. and Clara Cordle all of Rome; 2 sisters, Thelma Smith of Rome and Beulah Harris of Dalton, GA. 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Molene Caldwell Cordle, a life long residence of the Texas Valley Community, will be held this (Sunday) afternoon, October 1st, 2006, at 4 o'clock at the Antioch Baptist Church, Big Texas Valley Road, with the Rev. Bobby Stephens and the Rev. Greg Free officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Rome Midway Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery on highway 27 North at Armuchee.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and include, Tony Green, Brent Purdy, Kendall Dixon, a great-grandson, Mitchell Miller, grandsons-in-law, Corey Lively and Barry Minnick and a nephew, Shea Cordle. Pallbearers are requested to meet at the church on Sunday afternoon by 3:00. The Senior Adult Sunday School Class of Antioch Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers and asked to meet at the church on Sunday by 3:45 p.m.
Mrs. Cordle will be carried to the Antioch Baptist Church, Big Texas Valley Road, this (Sunday) afternoon where the family will receive friends from 2 o'clock until the funeral hour.
The family may be contacted at Mrs. Cordle's residence until they receive friends on this (Sunday), October 1st, from 2 o'clock until 4 o'clock at Antioch Baptist Church.
Donations may be made to the Rome Midway Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, and mailed to the attention of Troy W. Lee, #61 Rooney Road, Rome, Georgia 30165.
