Sanford Samuel "Sandy" Taylor, age 97, of Rome, GA, passed away Saturday evening, February 9, 2019 in an Alabama healthcare facility.
Mr. Taylor was born on August 22, 1921, in Bartow County, GA, a son of the late Jesse Taylor and Azzie Lanham Taylor. He had been a resident of Rome and Floyd the greater part of his life and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Taylor was a co-owner of Brewer & Taylor Foundry for a number of years and prior to his retirement was associated with Southern Fabrication in Carterville, GA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by five sisters, Marion Kerce, Betty Mae White, Geraldine Michael, Evelyn Carver and Ella Fain White; two brothers, Charles Taylor and Rayford Taylor.
Mr. Taylor is survived by two sisters, Shelby Jean (Randell) Orr of Rome, and Lillian White of Smyrna, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Mr. Sanford Samuel Taylor will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Salmon Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
