Rudy Eugene Langford

Rudy Eugene Langford, age 79, of 1031 Rock Creek Road, Calhoun, GA., died on Saturday noon, August 1st, 2009 at Evergreen Health and Rehab of Rome.
A native of Murray County, Mr. Langford was born on April 29th, 1930, the son of the late Newt and Della Baxter Langford. He was a member of Dykes Creek Baptist Church and was a veteran having served in the United States Army. Mr. Langford was a retired carpenter. Mr. Langford was preceded in death a son. Merle Langford in 1971, by 2 sisters, Velt Beavers and Barbara Ledford and by 3 brothers, Hoyt, Danfey and Edward Langford.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Roberta Hall Langford to whom he was married on April 7th, 1951; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Steve and Nan Langford of Rock Creek and Fred Langford of Rome; 2 grandsons, Chris Langford and Julie Parker and Justin Langford and Ashley Barnett all of Armuchee, 1 great-granddaughter, Alivia Langford of Armuchee, 1 step-granddaughter, Whitney Barnett of St. Simons, GA.; 2 sister, Nora Crumbly of Rome and Juanita Ledford of Chatsworth, Ga.; 3 brothers, J.L. Langford of Chatsworth, H. Langford of Rome, and Tommy Langford of Villanow. Nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service for Rudy Eugene Langford will be held on Tuesday afternoon, August 4th, 2009 at 4 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. David Thornton officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday afternoon from 3 until 4 o'clock at the funeral home. At other hours they will be at the home of a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Nan Langford, 1055 Rock Creek Road, Calhoun (The Rock Creek Community).
