Faye Padgett Stokes Bray, age 79, of Armuchee, died Friday morning, August 28th, 2009 at a local hospital.
A native of White Stone, (Cherokee County), Georgia, Mrs. Bray was born on December 29th, 1929, the daughter of the late Floyd R. and Birtie Wigington Padgett. She had spent the greater part of her life in Rome and was a member of the West Rome Baptist Church. For a period of time Mrs. Bray was associated with Tootsie's Deli and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. Mrs. Bray was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Kate Padgett Grimes, by 3 brothers, Weldon Luster Padgett, Arthur Cleaborn Padgett and Dewey Jack Padgett, by her first husband and father of her children, Fred Stokes and by her late husband, Robert Bray.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Randy Toles of Rome; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Janice Stokes of Rome and Eddie and Tesha Stokes of Rome; 6 grandchildren, Shane Stokes, Tripp Webb, Katelyn Stokes, Chance Stokes, Melanie Shirley and Ron Stokes. 9 great-grandchildren also survive as do a brother, Bobbie Fain Padgett of Canton, GA. Nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service for Faye Padgett Stokes Bray will be held this (Sunday) afternoon, August 30th, 2009 at 4 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Sandy Padgett officiating.
The family will receive friends this afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until the funeral hour in Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home. At other hours the family will be at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Randy Toles, 337 Warren Road, Rome.
