Roberta Jaynell Mama Nell Quarles

Roberta Jaynell "Mama Nell" Quarles, age 95, of #511 West 10th, Street, Rome, died Friday morning, September 28th, 2007 at Chulio Hills Health Care of Rome.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Quarles was born on May 28th, 1912, the daughter of the late Robert L. and Addie Woodall Robbins. She was a member of the North Broad Baptist Church. Mrs. Quarles along with her late husband, William A. "Bill" Quarles, Jr. owned and operated Quarles Furniture Company of Rome for many years. Mrs. Quarles was married on December 17th, 1933 to William A. "Bill" Quarles, Jr. who preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Fincher of Acworth, GA.; a son and daughter-in-law, Billy Quarles, III and Barbara Quarles of Rome; 6 grandchildren, Robin Van Landingham, Kelly Staud, Jayce Fincher, Jody Quarles, Greg Quarles and Ginny Quarles Jones, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, also survive as do 3 sisters, Virginia Duncan of Rome, Betty Green of Dunwoody, GA. and Helen Gann of Rome; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Margaret Robbins of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of Roberta Jaynell "Mama Nell" Quarles's life will be held on Sunday afternoon, September 30th, 2007 at 2 o'clock at the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Dr. Tony Brooks and Rev. Katrina Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of East View Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.
Mrs. Quarles will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Saturday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the home of the son and daughter-in-law at #20 Eastdale Road, Rome.
