Robert H Ross

Mr. Robert H. "Bob" Ross, age 51, of 395 Jones Bend Road, Rome, GA, died Friday, July 20, 2012, in a Rome hospital.

A native of Rome and Floyd County, Bob was born on June 1, 1961, the son of Robert Dudley Ross and Carolyn Johnson Ross. He had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County for the greater part of his life and was a 1979 graduate of Model High School. Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy and was of the Baptist Faith. He was an electrician by trade, having worked in the construction industry.

Bob is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Beth" Busby Ross, to whom he was married on October 29, 1982; two daughters, Joni Mills and her husband, Chris and Jennifer Herndon, both of Rome; one son, Joshua Herndon of Rome; his father, Dudley Ross of Rome; his mother, Carolyn Johnson Ross of Rome; three grandchildren, Steven Googe, Ross Herndon and ScotLand Herndon; a sister, Brandi Camp of Rome; a brother, Michael Lee Ross of Rome.

Funeral services for Robert H. "Bob" Ross will be held on Tuesday afternoon, July 24, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Cater officiating. Interment will follow in the Morning View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home on Tuesday from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour. At other hours they will be at the residence.
Active pallbearers will be Chris Mills, Joey Koon, Matt Martin, Ben Holt, Naylor Loveless, Nathan Walker, Corey Fuqua and Raymond Blackburn. Honorary pallbearers will include John Busby, Scott Herndon, Tim Smith and Phil Paxton.
