Robert ‘Justin’ Cornett, passed away on November 10, 2023, in Rome, GA. He was born on June 17, 1989, in Atlanta, GA. Justin was known for his ability to bring a smile to everyone's face and had an indomitable spirit that made him friends with all he met. When Justin was born he weighed two pounds and was given the nickname of Nut! He has affectionately been called Nut ever since.
After graduating from Model High School in 2009, Justin embarked on a successful journey in the military. One of Justin's proudest accomplishments was his military service. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged. His commitment to serving his country reflected his strong sense of duty and unwavering dedication. Later in his working career he was a dedicated professional who took great pride in his work and made significant contributions throughout his tenure.
Outside of work, Justin had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He possessed a remarkable talent for computers and was known as a computer whiz. He could effortlessly dismantle and assemble computers with ease, showcasing his technical expertise. Additionally, Justin had a deep love for tattoos, appreciating the personal significance they held for him. Furthermore, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle—an activity that allowed him to experience moments of freedom on the open road.
Justin leaves behind a profound legacy and will be dearly missed by those who knew him best. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Kaidyn Cornett and Adalyn Cornett of Rome, GA; his mother, Gloria 'Renee' Forsyth of Rome, GA; his father, Terry Ford of North Augusta, SC; his brother, Brian Ashworth and wife Breanna of Kingston, GA; sisters, Lynn Perry of Kingston, GA and Kaytlin Ford of Cave Spring, GA; as well as his nieces and nephew Peyton Self, Ava Ashworth, Ellie Ashworth and Brayden Mayo all of Kingston, GA. He was predeceased by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Services to honor and celebrate Justin's life will be held at Salmon Funeral Home. The visitation will take place on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. The funeral service will follow the visitation on Thursday at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with military honors.
Robert Justin Cornett will forever be remembered as a loving father, son, brother, and friend. His warm heart and infectious smile touched the lives of many. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
