Robert Goldin Armstrong, age 78, passed away on July 9, 2024, at his home in Rome, GA. He was born on December 14, 1945, in Aragon, GA.
Robert's interests varied and brought him much joy. He particularly enjoyed following the UGA Bulldogs and Nascar. In his leisure time, he found relaxation in reading about these subjects and watching their matches. Additionally, he took pleasure in maintaining his yard, tending to his pool, and working on various woodworking projects in his shop. Professionally, Mr. Robert retired from Mohawk Industries as a Maintenance Supervisor. In the hearts of those who knew him well, Robert will always be remembered for his kind nature and willingness to assist those around him. He leaves behind a legacy that resonates with all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Beatrice (Kinney) and Dean Floyd Armstrong. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Mary Nelson Armstrong of Rome, GA; his sons, Kinney Armstrong and his wife, Jaime of Rockmart, Rob Pruett and his wife, Sandy of Rome; his daughter, Resa Patrick of Rome; as well as a host of grandchildren: Abby Ensley (Jason), Cassie Davis (John), Rachel Selman (Hunter), Kara Matthews (Will), J.P. Foster (Katrina), Wes Foster (Maylee) and great-grandchildren: Madison, Sawyer & Sadie Grace Ensley, Aubrey, Olivia & Hallie Davis, Eli & Brice Selman, Makenna & Cece Matthews and Coltyn Foster; nieces, Julie Brumbelow, Susan Brumbelow and Anna Kerr all of Rockmart; and a nephew, Steve Brumbelow (Stacey) of Rockmart.
Services to honor and remember Robert Goldin Armstrong will be private with Mr. Will Matthews and Adam Brumbelow officiating. A private burial will take place at Floyd Memory Gardens with Kinney Armstrong, Rob Pruett, Jason Ensley, John Davis, Steve Brumbelow, Brad Brumbelow and Wes Foster serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to either The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society www.lls.org or to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital www.stjude.org.
