Ricky Lynn Davis

Ricky Lynn Davis, born December 22, 1957 passed away Monday, August 21, 2023.

Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Y.B. Davis and mother, Darlene Clonts Davis; grandparents, Amburs and Delva Clonts and George and Mae Davis; and a brother-in-law, Mike Eads.

Ricky lived an amazing life, 47 years ago he was given 2 weeks to live.  In true typical Ricky fashion, he showed the doctors that they were wrong, and God had the final word as he went on to live a full life.  Ricky enjoyed playing the piano and spending time with his family and friends.  Ricky enjoyed food and would often walk to get him a blizzard or a banana split. Red Lobster for all you can eat shrimp was also one of his favorites.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Bobby (April) Davis, Wayne Davis (Susie Brannon), Pam Eads, Jane Earwood, and Scotty (Hannah) Davis; Nieces and nephews, Stephanie Ellison, Billy (Jill) Davis, Chris (Lori) Eads, Holly (Jamie) Bennett, Stacie (W.D.) Barnes, Heather Wooten, Cory (Autumn) Eads, Lorrica (Frank) Purdy, Jason Earwood, Cindy Davis, Hayden Davis, Luke Davis. Several great nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Bonus brother and best friend, Tim (Allison) Land.  God children TJ Land, Amanda Howard, Christie Aussieker, and Timothy David Land.  

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday August 25, 2023 at Salmon Funeral Home, with Rev. Forest Leachman, Rev. Rayford Davenport and Rev. Tyler Barron officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday August 24, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Billy Davis, Chris Eads, Cory Eads, Frank Purdy, Tim Land and Will Rose. 

The family would like to say a special thank you to the Nurses and CNA’s at Pruitt Health Care for taking such good care of him. Also, a very special thank you to Tapestry Hospice nurses, Janice Bagley and Jennifer Dodd for their excellent care and support during the last days of his life.
