Richard Jewell Clark

Mr. Richard Jewell "Rick" Clark, Sr., age 58, of 7044 Cave Spring Road, Cave Spring, GA, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, in a local hospital.

Mr. Clark was born on July 11, 1952, in Hoschton, GA, the son of the late Jewell Clark and Mary Emmett Clark. He had been a resident of Cave Spring for the past 12 years, moving here from Florida. Mr. Clark was a veteran of the United States Army and was a disabled veteran. He was a member of the Plainville Church of God of Prophecy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Milissa Looney Clark, on February 8, 2000, to whom he was married on March 3, 1987.

Mr. Clark is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Jewell, Jr., and Samantha Clark of Danielsville, GA, Richard Bradley and Sonya Clark of Resaca, GA, Joseph and Karen Clark of Cleveland, GA, and Scott Clark of Carrolton, GA; three daughters and sons-in-law, Misty and Mitch Craig of Commerce, GA, Deidre and Shannon Stinchcomb, and Kayla and Chris Phillips of Cave Spring; two step-daughters, Nicola Jordan and Amber Yother; four sisters, Joyce Mason, Cathy Martin, Jane Sims and Kim Reynolds. Twenty grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Clark will be held on Friday morning at 11 a.m. in Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Gaddis officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery with the Honor Guard from Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 of the American Legion conferring military graveside rites.

Mr. Clark will remain in Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends this (Thursday) evening from 6 until 8 p.m.

Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home on Friday by 10:30 a.m. and include Richard Clark, Joseph Clark, Scott Clark, Emmett Robinson, Adam Reynolds and Josh Gowens. Oliver Hight will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
