Ralph Lewis Patterson, age 76, of #429 Freeman Ferry Road, Rome, died Tuesday evening, April 7th, 2009 at a local hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Mr. Patterson was born on October 23rd, 1932 and spent the great part of his life in Floyd County. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the United States Marine Corp and was of the Church of God of Prophecy faith. Mr. Patterson was a retired house painter and was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Diane Terrell in 2007.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Reeves Patterson to whom he married in 1954, 2 daughters, Linda Sue Patterson of Rome and Mary Patterson of Calhoun; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Judy Patterson of Silver Creek and Ricky Patterson of Lindale. 7 grandsons, 2 granddaughters and 6 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Ralph Lewis Patterson will be held on Friday morning, April 10th, 2009 at 11 o'clock from the graveside of Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Leonard Crawford officiating with interment to follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. The funeral precession will leave the funeral home on Friday morning at 10:40 am to go for the graveside service.
Mr. Patterson will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Thursday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
