Mrs. Rachel Oaks Treadaway, age 85 of Rome, GA, passed away peacefully at her residence Tuesday evening, February 23, 2021.
Mrs. Treadaway was born in Rome February 27, 1935, a daughter of the late John and Cordelia Oaks. She was a graduate of Rome High School and a member of East Rome Church of God. Mrs. Treadaway had worked for over 30 years with Atlanta Dairies as the office manager. She enjoyed yardwork, quilting canning and baking. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Treadaway was preceded in death on May 23, 2000, by her husband, James “Jim” Treadaway, whom she married April 12, 1958. Three brothers, Howard, Chester, and John W. Oaks, and four sisters, Virginia O. Colston, Wilmer O. Owens, Jackie O Cline, and Lola O. Hollifield, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Treadaway is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jennifer Treadaway of Thousand Oaks, CA, and Gregory Treadaway of Rome; three grandsons, Alexander Treadaway, Erik Treadaway and Owen Treadaway. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Treadaway will be Friday, February 26, 2021, at 12:00 noon in the Alvis Miller Memorial Chapel of Salmon Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
