Phillip Scott Shuler

Phillip Scott Shuler, age 46, of Shannon, GA. died on Thursday evening, June 17th, 2010 at a local hospital from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

A native of Ashville, N.C. Scott was born on October 1, 1963, the son of Harley Austin Shuler, Jr. and Mildred Jean Lanning Shuler. He had spent the greater part of his life in Floyd County and was a 1981 graduate of Armuchee High School. Scott was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Scott was a heavy equipment operator in the construction business.

Survivors include his parents, Harley A. Shuler, Jr. and Mildred Jean Shuler of Shannon; 4 sisters, Carol Smith of Ashville, N.C., Kathy Self of Calhoun, Betty Anne Spriggs of Cedar Bluff. Ala. and Patty Shuler Baur of Rome; 2 brothers, Don Shuler of Rome and Joe Shuler of Calhoun; 3 brothers-in-law, 1 sister-in-law, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Phillip Scott Shuler will be held on Monday afternoon, June 21st, 2010 at 2 o'clock from the graveside of Morning View Cemetery with Deacon Stuart Neslin officiating. Interment will follow in Morning View Cemetery with Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 Honor Guard conducting military graveside rites.

Scott will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Sunday) evening from 5 until 7 o'clock. A Biblical Wake Service will be held this (Sunday) evening at 7 o'clock at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel with Deacon Stuart Neslin officiating. At other hours the family will be at the home of his parents at #900 2nd Street Extension, Shannon, GA.

Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements for Phillip Scott Shuler.
