George “Perry” Wigington, age 60, of Rome, GA, passed away Wednesday morning, March 17, 2021, in a local hospital.
Perry was born December 23, 1960, in Atlanta, GA, son of Sherry Lively Bonds and the late George Britton Wigington, Jr. He graduated from Wills High School in Smyrna, GA, attended West Georgia College and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Prior to becoming disabled, Perry had worked for Coca Cola in Birmingham, AL, for several years. He was a history buff who enjoyed outdoors, collecting Native American Indian artifacts and wood carving. Perry loved all kinds of music and enjoyed playing drums. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Marx Keiron Swader.
Perry is survived by his mother, Sherry L. Bonds of Rome; step-daughter, Whitney Clementi of Atlanta; step-sons, Joey Clementi of Birmingham, and Dustin and Jennifer Williams and their son Colton; two sisters, Leigh and Rev. Art Cypers of Brunswick, GA, and Amanda Swader of Rome; one niece, Gabrielle and Josh Hale; four nephews, Theron and Emily Swader and their children Abby and Anna, Brock and Satilla Cyphers and their children Brinley and Oaklyn, Peyton Swader, Perry Britton and Lexi Swader and their children Ellie and Oliver; brother-in-law, Sean Swader.
Funeral services for Perry will be Saturday, March 20, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the Alvis Miller Memorial Chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Whorton and Rev. Art Cypers officiating. Interment will follow in Georgia Memorial Cemetery in Marietta, GA.
Perry’s family will receive friends at Salmon Funeral Home Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour.
