Paul William Peterson

Paul William Peterson, age 73, of Rome passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 10, 2023.

Paul was born on October 10, 1949 in Miami, Florida to the late Herbert Peterson and Ruth Peterson. Paul worked for years as a chemist at Bekaert Steel Wire and his art was stone masonry. His handiwork can be found all over Rome and the surrounding areas, including the Memorial Wall at the Rome Braves Stadium. He was known for his hard work and love for his church. He was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert Arnold Peterson.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Martha Ellen Peterson; son, Happy Peterson, daughter-in-law Erin Peterson; son, Aaron Peterson; grandchildren, Emma, Myah, and Eden Peterson; brothers, Frank Peterson and family; Johnny Peterson and family; sister, Joyce Kleid and family.

Services for Paul will be held Friday, January 13 at Northside Church in Armuchee. Friends and family will be received from 4 pm until 6pm with a memorial service immediately following.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully asks that any size donation be made to Paul’s church that was dearest to him, Bush Arbor Baptist church.
