Paul Edward Camp, Jr

Paul Edward Camp, Jr. of #4 Oxford Pl. Rome, passed away Tuesday morning at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with lung cancer.
Paul was born on June 1st, 1935 to Paul E. Camp, Sr. and Gwendolyn Criswell Camp who both preceded him in death. Paul was also preceded in death by many loving aunts and uncles who lovingly called him "Butch".
Paul was a life long resident of Floyd County and graduated from Rome Men's High in 1953. After graduation he went to work at General Electric where he retired after 40 years of service.
Paul was a 50 year Master Mason, a member of Oostanaula Masonic Lodge #113 F&AM, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a York Rite Mason. Paul was also a Shriner, being a member of the Yaarab Shrine Temple of Atlanta, Ga. and a member of the Rome Shrine Club. Paul was also a member of the Floyd County Wildlife Association. Paul loved fishing, hunting, playing golf and gardening. He loved the outdoors, even just riding over the mountains.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Carol Hood Camp and daughters Nancy Selman and Terri Wynn. Son-in-law, Dr. Charles Wynn and a brother Tommy Camp. Also surviving are his 3 special buddies, his grandsons Jayson Selman, Taylor Wynn and Hunter Selman who lovingly called him their Paw-Paw, and of whom he was so proud.
Paul's most cherished times were with his loving wife, daughters, grandsons and spending time with his special fishing buddies Don, Gordon, Huey and Ray.
Private memorial services will be held as a later date with Reverend Bobby Stephens presiding.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, April 24th, 2008 from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be sent to Healthfield Hospice Homecare, 504 Riverside Pkwy., Suite 300, Rome, GA 30161 and to give a very heart loving thanks to our 2 special angels, Gena and Freta.
