Pansy Carol Dorling

Pansy Carol Dorling, age 69, of #589 Trove Drive, Rome, (Garden Lakes Community) died Friday morning, August 6th, 2010 at the residence following an illness of 3 months.

A native of Rome, Mrs. Dorling was born on August 29th, 1940, the daughter of the late Grady and Lucy Lee Nichols Howren. She had spent the greater part of her life in Rome and for 10 years served as the manager of Fitting Your Needs in Rome prior to opening her own business, Pansy's Post-Mastectomy Boutique. Pansy was very active in the community Cancer Society. Pansy was a member of the Dayspring Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include her husband, William, A. "Bill" Dorling to whom she was married on January 14th, 1977; 1 son, Kenneth Goewey of Rome; 4 step-children, Ernest Dorling, John Dorling and Mary Anne Arico all of Florida and Barbara Mabry of Virginia. Several step-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Pansy Carol Dorling will be held on Monday, August 9th, 2010 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with her Pastor Robert Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Dorling will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Sunday) evening from 5 until 7 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.

Pallbearers will include, Ernest and John Dorling, Tony Arico and Greg Irvin.
