Nancy Carol Oaks Easterling, age 67, of Romulus, Michigan and a former Roman, passed away early Monday morning, July 29, 2013 in a Rome hospital.
Mrs. Easterling was born on May 3, 1946 in Paris, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Chester Lee Oaks and the late Catherine McMinn Oaks. Mrs. Easterling attended Armuchee High School and was a homemaker. Mrs. Easterling, formerly of the Armuchee Community had been a resident of Michigan since 1968. She was a member of the Graceway Baptist Church in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Survivors include her husband, John Easterling to whom she was married on December 7, 1963; 2 daughters, Catherine Dyer of Webberville, Mich. and Shanda Theis, Westland, Mich.; 1 son, Timothy Easterling of Holland, Mich. 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson also survive as do 3 sisters, Linda Davidson of Niota, Tenn., Karen Fox of Cleveland, Tenn. and Sherrie Arthur of Knoxville, Tenn. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Nancy Carol Oaks Easterling will be held on Thursday afternoon, August 1, 2013 at 2 o'clock in the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the family lot of Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Easterling will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Wednesday) evening, July 31, 2013 from 6 until 9 o'clock.
