Minnie H. "Mickey" Redden, age 92, of Rome, passed away on Saturday evening, September 1st, 2012 at a Rome hospital.
A native of Heflin, Alabama, Mrs. Redden was born on September 9th, 1919, the daughter of the late Simeon F. and Missouri Harris. She had spent the greater part of her life in Floyd County and was a graduate of Farmer's High School and a graduate of Georgia Baptist School of Nursing in Atlanta, where she received her BS Degree in Nursing. Mrs. Redden was a long time active member of the Dykes Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Redden was associated with Floyd Medical Center, Floyd Home Health Care and Georgia Kraft of Rome as a Registered Nurse. Mrs. Redden was married on June 6th, 1943 to Emory William Redden who preceded her in death on September 8th, 2001.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Elice and Bob Baldridge of Calhoun, Ga.; a son and daughter-in-law, Lin and Pam Redden of Rome; 6 grandchildren, Shellise Lively, Emily Shelton, Troy Redden, Matt Redden, Luke Baldridge and Nealey Baldridge; 6 great grandchildren, Adrian Lively, Aaron Lively, Autumn Olivia Lively, Cheyann Lively, Jared Shelton and Ethan Shelton also survive.
Funeral services for Minnie H. "Mickey" Redden will be held on Wednesday afternoon, September 5th, 2012 at 3 o'clock at the Dykes Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Mikel Garrett officiating. Private interment will follow in the family lot of East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Dykes Creek Baptist Church on Wednesday afternoon from 1 until 3 o'clock.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Luke Baldridge, Troy Redden, Matt Redden, Adrian Lively, Jim Wlodkowski and Larry Fincher.
