Jason Minshew, age 35, of Rome, passed away on Friday morning, June 24th, 2011 at a Rome hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Jason was born on November 20th, 1975, the son of Steve and Cindy Minshew. Jason had spent his entire life in Rome and was a 1994 graduate of Model High School and received his BS and MBA from Shorter College. Jason received a minor in Christian Ministry. He was a very active member and deacon of North Broad Baptist Church and was associated with Norfolk Southern Railway in Atlanta. Jason was preceded in death by grandparents, Bobbi Ozment Muse, William Lemuel Goodson, Barbara Fincher Minshew, by an uncle and aunt, Phil and Joyce Minshew and an aunt, Tammy Goodson in 2010.
Survivors include his parents, Steve and Cindy Minshew of Rome; a grandfather, Lewis Minshew of Rome; his girlfriend, Heather Belock of Rome; 2 uncles, Mike Goodson of Cordova, Ala. and Rick Minshew (Sherri) of Rome; 1 aunt, Robyn Boecler (Paul) of White, GA. Nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Jason Minshew will be held on Monday evening, June 27, 2011 at 7 o'clock at the North Broad Baptist Church of Rome with Rev. Katrina Brooks and the Rev. Tim Bray of New Orleans officiating.
Jason will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Sunday) evening beginning at 6 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the home of his parents, Steve and Cindy Minshew, 108 Etowah Drive, Rome.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Sam Echols, Keith Thompson, Mike Trammell, Joe Perry, Caleb Freeman, Dan Diprima, Brant Lane, Mark Minshew and Carl Hall.
