Matthew Phillip Barton

Matthew Phillip Barton, age 31, of 343 Canard Road, Rome, died Monday morning, September 25th, 2006 in Jackson County, Ga. from injuries received in an automobile accident.
A native of Floyd County, Matthew was born on January 11th, 1975, the son of Roger P. and Teresa Downs Barton. Matthew had spent his entire life in Floyd County and was a 1994 graduate of Model High School. Matthew was a member of the North Rome Church of God. Matthew served as a pipe fitter with Complete Mechanical Contractors.
Survivors include his wife, Keri Barton, 2 sons, Jacob and William Barton, his parents, Roger and Teresa Barton of Rome, 1 sister, Rebecca Newton of Rome; grandparents, Katherine Satcher of Taylorsville, GA. and Robert and Thelma Barton of Rome, 1 niece, Maddie Newton. Aunt, Uncle and cousins also survive.
Private funeral services for the family will be held on Thursday at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Pastor Harold Jones and the Rev. Brad Prater officiating.
Matthew will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Wednesday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
