Mary Virginia Duncan

Mary Virginia Duncan, age 97, of Rome, passed away on Jan. 15, 2016. Virginia went to Rome High School and attended Carroll Lynn Business School after high school. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Farrill Duncan, Sr.; son, Thomas Farrill "Tommy" Duncan, Jr.; grandsons, Tim Green and Randy Duncan; three sisters, Willa Bowman, Rosa Shaw, Nell Quarles; three brothers, Chester Robbins, Robert Robbins, Jack Robbins. Mrs. Duncan and her husband owned Duncan Furniture for about 50 years. She was the oldest member of North Broad Baptist Church. She loved working and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Duncan is survived by her two daughters, Patty Duncan Green and Sue Ellen (Lee) Duncan Hampton; five grandchildren, Terry (Dot) Green, Todd Green, Tanya Dodd, Stacy (Andy) Akin, Steve (Terri) Duncan and several great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Gann and Betty Green.

Visitation will be on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016 at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home from Noon until 1:00 pm. The funeral will be 1:00 pm, Monday, Jan. 18, 2016 at the funeral home with a private burial.
