Mary Elizabeth Brown

Mary Elizabeth Roberts Brown, age 80, of # 5761 Martha Berry Highway, NW, Armuchee, passed away Monday morning, December 13th, 2010 at the residence.

A native of Chattooga County, Georgia, Mrs. Brown was born on August 30th, 1930, the daughter of the late James C. and Sally Lois Adams Roberts. She attended Sublina School and was a homemaker. Mrs. Brown was a member of Armuchee Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Ladies Sunday School Class. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Delores Brown in 1962 and by a granddaughter, Amanda Summer Brown. Mrs. Brown was married in September 1948 to Jack William Brown, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1974.

Survivors include 1 daughter, Denise Brown and Terry Loveless of Armuchee; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Jack Brown, Jr. and his wife, Ava of Rome, Jim Brown and his wife, Sandy of Armuchee and Jon Brown and his wife, Kim of Rome; 9 grandchildren, Jack Brown III, Jason, Adam, Erin, Kyle, Dalton, Haiden, Mike and Maren Brown; 7 great-grandchildren, Sydney Brown, Cloey Brown, Jack Brown IV, Amanda Brown, Gavin Brown, Gage Brown and Ayla Pasley; 3 sisters, Jewell Brown of Trion, GA., Gladys Casey and Lois Payne both of Rome; 1 brother, Frank Roberts of Fayetteville, N.C.; a very special nephew, Tommy Roberts of Armuchee. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Roberts Brown will be held on Thursday afternoon, December 16th, 2010 at 1 o'clock at Armuchee Baptist Church on Big Texas Valley Road, with the Rev. Glenn Clonts officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of Armuchee Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Brown will lie-in-state at the church on Thursday from 12 noon until 1 o'clock.

The following will serve as active pallbearers, Terry Loveless, Ronnie Casey, Greg Culberson, Casey Brown, Ken and Steve Boyd.

Mrs. Brown will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
