Mary Alice Williams

Mrs. Mary Alice Williams, age 84, of Rome, passed away on, Thursday, March 23, 2017, in a local hospital.

A native of Rome and Floyd County, Mrs. Williams was born on January 12, 1933, the daughter of the late Ralph and Inez McElroy Toles. She was a graduate of Rome, High School and a faithful member of the West Rome Baptist Church. Mrs. Williams was a housewife and homemaker who enjoyed shopping and had a passion for running. She had been a participant in several area and state 5K runs. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Williams is preceded in death by a son, Steven Marl Williams.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, Jay Hugh Williams, whom she married on August 12, 1953; one son, Phillip Williams, of Rome; a grandson, David Williams, of Rome; a brother, Lynn Edward Toles of Rome. Other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Alice Williams will be held at, 2:00 PM, Monday, March 27, 2017 in the Carl Sidwell Chapel of the Salmon Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
