Marshall Bufford Moon

Mr. Marshall "Buford" Moon, age 76, of Rome, GA, passed away on Thursday afternoon, March 22, 2018.

Buford was born in Sycamore, AL, on February 16, 1942, son of the late Marshall Percy Moon and Paralee Kissic Moon. He had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County the greater part of his life and was a graduate of Coosa High School. Buford had served with the Rome Fire Department for over 40 years, retiring as a Battalion Chief. He enjoyed fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle. Mostly, Buford loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on July 18, 2010, by his wife, Betty Ann Moon, who he married on July 3, 1971.

Buford is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Lori and Don Langston, and Britney Nicole Moon; three granddaughters, Jennifer Lynn Parker, Cassie Lee Weaver and Annslee Ann Cook; four great-grandchildren, Hayden Henry, Jackson Parker, Nora Parker and Ryder Akins.

In keeping with Bufords wishes, he has been cremated and his family will gather at the lake in the days to come and celebrate his life privately with an RC and a Moon Pie.
