Marsha Johnson McKoy

Mrs. Marsha Johnson McKoy, age 79, of Rome, GA passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at a local healthcare facility surrounded by her loved ones.

Marsha was born on July 21, 1945 in Rome, GA. She was the daughter of the late W.A. Johnson and Emmie Sparks Johnson. Marsha was a faithful member of Sherwood Forest Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher. Mrs. McKoy loved the Lord immensely and her church. She had a passion and talent for crafts. Marsha was a loving and proud Navy wife and though she had no biological children, she helped raise many nieces and nephews and was a dedicated family woman who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Marsha had a passion for animals and was skilled in training them. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Harold and Billy Johnson and a sister, Melba Whorton. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Joe McKoy of Rome, GA, several nieces, nephews and friends. 

A graveside to celebrate the life of Marsha Johnson McKoy will be held on Monday December 30, 2024 at 1:00 PM at East View Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Jenkins officiating. 

The family will receive friends on Monday December 30, 2024, at Salmon Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM.
