Mark Anthony Grant, age 53, of Cedar Bluff, Ala. and a former long time resident of Celanese, (the Riverside Community), Rome, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, February 24th, 2007, in Cedar Bluff, Alabama.
A native of Floyd County, Mr. Grant was born on May 19th, 1953, the son of the late Doyal H. and Agnes Louise Davis Grant. He had spent the greater part of his life in Floyd County and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Grant was associated with General Shale Brick Company of Rome. Mr. Grant was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Elaine "Tiny" Brewster on December 11th, 2005.
Survivors include a daughter, Micah Lee Harvell of Houston, Texas; a son, Eric Joseph Grant of Rome; 1 granddaughter and 4 grandsons also survive as do 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Frances Brewster of Cedar Bluff, Ala. and Linda Griffith and her husband, Marvin Griffith of Rome; 1 brother, Mitchell Grant of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service for Mark Anthony Grant will be held on Tuesday evening February 27th, 2007, at 7 o'clock at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel with the Rev. J.C. Oakes officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel from 6 until 7 o'clock. At other hours they will be a the home of the sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Marvin Griffith, at #234 Bells Ferry Road, Rome.
