Joyce Kerce, age 82, of Guest House Court, Rome, passed away on Friday evening, March 30th, 2012 at her resident.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Kerce was born on June 4th, 1929, the daughter of the late William and Clara Chapman Cook. She had spent the greater part of her life in Rome and was a homemaker. Mrs. Kerce was a member of Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Frank Wesley Kerce on May 5th, 2009. Mrs. Kerce was married on January 14th, 1946 to Frank Quarles Kerce who preceded her in death on November 19th, 1995.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Carol Hall of Silver Creek, GA. and Deborah Johnson and her husband, Phillip of Shannon, GA.; 1 granddaughter, Stacey Marie Huskins and her husband, Robert of Silver Creek; 3 great-grandchildren, Jessica Masters, Lauren Messick and Joshua Patterson; 1 great-great grandson, Grayson Bentley Masters; 2 sisters, Alma Rogers of Rome and Mary Ann Davis of Buchanan, GA. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Joyce Kerce will be held on Monday afternoon, April 2nd, 2012 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Dr. Philip May and Warren Jones officiating with interment to follow in the family lot of East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 2nd, 2012 at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until 2 o'clock.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Robert Huskins, Joshua Patterson, Jeremy Master, Aaron Payne, Phil Johnson and Jerry Smith.
