Margaret Louise Owen

Margaret "Margie" Owen, age 80, of #19 Southern Woods Drive, Armuchee, GA. died Friday afternoon, May 28th, 2010 at the residence.

A native of Cobb County, Georgia, Mrs. Owen was born on August 9th, 1929, the daughter of the late W.H. "Dub" Anderson and the late Vaudie Pope Anderson. Prior to her retirement in 1992 she was associated with the LaDean Shoppe in Rossville, Georgia and had served as manager of Rayless Department Stores and was co-owner of E & E Shoe Store in Rossville Georgia. Mrs. Owen was a member of the Floyd Springs Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Joyce Anderson and brothers, Edward Lee Anderson and Bobby Gene Anderson.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Alton Owen to whom she was married to on January 1st, 1949; a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce O. Pound and her husband, Robert of Marietta, GA.; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry A. Owen and his wife Moni of Rome. 4 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Margaret "Margie" Owen will be held this (Monday) morning, May 31st, 2010 at 11 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home, Rome, GA. with Mr. Ryan Owen, Rev. Aaron Brookshire and Dr. Eddy Rushing officiating with interment to follow on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock in Floyd Memory Gardens in Rome with the Rev. Daniel Hyde officiating at the graveside.

The following will serve as active pallbearers, Ryan and Al Owen, Bill DeHart, Davis Storey, Bill Duke and Richard Bigham.

The family received friends on Sunday evening from 5 until 7 o'clock at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home in Rome, Georgia.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Heyman HospiceCare at Floyd Medical Center, P.O. Box 163, Rome, Georgia 30162-0163.
