Mabel Baxter

Mabel Bagley Baxter, age 86 of Swainsboro Georgia and a former long-time resident of the Floyd Springs community, Armuchee, GA.died Tuesday evening, September 21st, 2010 in Swainsboro, GA.

Mrs. Baxter was born on May 29, 1924 in Gordon County, GA. the daughter of the late Clarence L. and Mary Louise Porch Bagley. She was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church in Gordon County, GA. Mrs. Baxter was preceded in death by her husband, George Lester Baxter Jr.in 1994, by a son-in-law, Bobby Oglesby , by 3 brothers and a sister and by a grandson, Perry Baxter Oglesby in 2009.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Baxter Oglesby of Midville, GA ; a son, George Larry Baxter of Rome, 2 step-grandchildren, Spencer Lee Oglesby and Jeffery Daniel Oglesby.

Graveside and interment services for Mabel Bagley Baxter will be held on Saturday morning, September 25th, 2010 at 11 o'clock from the graveside at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens in Rome GA. with the Reverend Jody Brock officiating.

The family will receive friends this (Friday) evening, September 24th, 2010 from 5 until 6 o'clock at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home in Rome, GA.
