Lonnie Aldon Beavers

Mr. Lonnie Aldon Beavers, age 84, of Shannon, GA passed away a few days after his beloved wife on Sunday, December 8, 2024.

Lonnie was born on June 16, 1940 in Rome, GA to his late parents: Luke and Velt Beavers. Mr. Beavers retired but had worked as a supervisor in the textile industry for many years. He loved to hunt, especially deer hunting and was an avid Georgia Bulldog football fan. Lonnie was a loving husband for 64 years to his wife, Paulette, a loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Paulette Skene Beavers who passed away 6 days prior to Lonnie on December 2, 2024, his daughter, Angie Beavers and brother, David Beavers.

Lonnie is survived by his children: Larry (Mattie) Beavers of Epworth, GA, Pam (Robert) Wallace of Jasper, GA, Edwena Cockrell of Rome, GA and Missy Jones of Rome, GA; sisters: Cloteen Alexander of Rome, GA, Connie (Mike) Sorrells of GA and Faye Reece of GA; 11grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside Services for Lonnie and Paulette Beavers will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens at 12:00 PM. The family will receive friends at Salmon Funeral Home on Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society in loving memory of Lonnie and Paulette’s daughter, Angie Beavers.
