Linda Sherry Morgan

Linda Reeves Morgan, age 62, of West Rome, passed away on Thursday evening, September 27th, 2012 at a Rome hospital.

A native of Floyd County, Linda was born on October 3rd, 1949 the daughter of Sarah Evelyn Stephens Reeves and the late Hollie E. "Toonie" Reeves. She had spent the great part of her life in Floyd County and was a graduate of Armuchee High School and a graduate of Shorter University where she received her BS Degree in teaching. Linda was associated with the Rome City School system for 26 years, serving as a teacher. Linda was a member of Cornerstone Church and attended Hill Crest Baptist Church. Linda was a member of the Drawlin' Darlin' Red Hot Flashes. Linda was preceded in death by her father on August 7th, 2011.

Survivors include her husband, Kirk D. Morgan; 2 daughters, Holly Morgan Henry and her husband Eric of Calhoun and Heather Morgan Hightower and her husband Steven of Rome; 4 grandchildren, Jordan Burke, Kristen Burke, Morgan Burke and Addison Hightower; 1 great-granddaughter, Makinleigh Spires; her mother, Sarah Evelyn Stephens Reeves of Rome; 2 brothers, Larry Reeves and his wife, Dru of Rome and Lesley Reeves of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Linda Reeves Morgan will be held on Monday afternoon, October 1st, 2012 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Reverend Bobby Stephens and Pastor Jody Hagerty officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.

Linda will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Sunday evening, September 30th, 2012 from 6 until 9 o'clock. At other hour they will be at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Steven Hightower in Garden Lakes.

The following will serve as active pallbearers, Don Chambers, Larry Reeves, Lesley Reeves, Larry Walker, Edwin Martin, Eric Henry and Steven Hightower. Honorary pallbearers will include, Beverly Morgan, Rosie Walker, Patsy House, Janice Pearson, Elly Boils, Frances Barnes and Becky Chambers. Active and honorary pallbearers are requested to meet at the funeral home on Monday afternoon by 1:30 p.m.
