Linda Braswell Childress

Mrs. Linda Braswell Childress, passed away on September 4, 2023, at Redmond Hospital. She was born on January 2, 1942, in Shannon, GA.

Linda started her career at Coosa Bakery and held numerous roles there over the years. Her dedication and hard work were evident to all who knew her. In addition to her successful career, Linda was a proud graduate of Model High School, class of 1960. Her education laid the foundation for a life filled with knowledge and personal growth.

Beyond work and education, Linda had a variety of passions and interests that brought joy to her life. She found solace in reading books and cherished every opportunity to spend valuable time with her loved ones. Linda adored all animals and showered them with love and affection. One of her favorite pastimes was vacationing in the mountains of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, where she found peace in nature's embrace.

Survivors include her husband of over 50 years, Kenneth Childress of Rome; daughter, Tammy Lowe and husband Lincoln of Piedmont, AL; step-son, Torie Childress of Rome, GA; grandchildren, Bandy Lowe, Lance Lowe, Logan Lowe; great-grandchildren, Emma Lowe and Riley Kennedy will miss her deeply.  Linda was preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas Braswell and Willie Jane Horsley Braswell, as well as her brother J.D. Braswell and sisters: Elsie Clark, Connis Selman, Hilda Braswell, and Myrtle Jacks.

To honor her memory and celebrate her life, a visitation service will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Salmon Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at 12:00 PM in the Salmon Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow the funeral service at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

Linda touched the lives of many with her warm smile and caring attitude. Her compassion and love for others are qualities that will be remembered forever. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
