Lily Otha Magness

Lily Battle Magness, age 74, of Atlanta, Ga. and a former Roman, died on Tuesday night, March 30th, 2010 at the Atlanta Medical Center.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Magness was born on March 20th, 1936, the daughter of the late James and Maggie Price Battle. She was of the Baptist faith, a 30 year resident of Atlanta and was a retired bookkeeper. She was married on February 7th, 1976 to J. Bryon Magness who preceded her in death on April 15th, 1982.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Sarah Hardin of Rome; a brother, James Harry Battle of Rome. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Lily Battle Magness will be held on Friday afternoon, April 2nd, 2010 at 2:30 from the graveside of Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jody Brock officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Magness will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 1 until 2 o'clock. At other hours they will be at their respective homes.
