Kert Kenneth Key

Mr. Kert Kenneth Key, Sr., age 79, of Kingston, GA, passed away on September 7th, 2015. Mr. Key was born in Chery Log, GA October 19, 1935, son of Martin VanBuren Key and Idenia Fain Key. Mr. Key was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was stationed in France for two years. He was in the Fire and Aircraft rescue and received the National Defense Service Medal. He was later stationed in Maine and continued to work for the fire department until he was discharged with a medal of Good Conduct. Kert was with the Atlanta Fire Department for eight years in Fire and Aircraft rescue. He retired from Stemco in Longview, TX.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy Ann "Dot" Key of Kingston, GA; two daughters, Robyn Key Oznick of Garland, TX and son in law Danny Oznick, Rhonda Joyce Key of Adairsville, GA; one son, Kert K. "Kenny" Key, Jr. of Longview, TX and daughter in law Renee Key; six grandchildren, Matthew and Jonathan Mealer, Cory Key, Brent Key, Jessica Key Haltom and Keaton Key; seven great grandchildren, Eryn and Emily Mealer, Braydon and Brianna Turner, Baleigh and future Haddie Key, Jamie Haltom, Abby Key; two sisters, Bernetta Trammell of Blue Ridge, GA and Diane Pinson of Elijay, GA and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kert Key is preceded in death his 6 brothers and 2 sisters. He is also preceded by his granddaughter Miranda Turner.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday , September 12, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Kingston, GA with the Reverend Butch Cole and Matthew Mealer officiating. Family will receive friends on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home.
