Mrs. Katherine Keys Harder of #314 Edgewood Avenue, Rome died Thursday at a local hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Harder was the daughter of the late Paul A. and Mamie Smith Keys. She resided in Glen Falls, New York for 24 years before returning to Rome in 1969. She was a member of the Shorter Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Harder was associated with the Fairbanks Company in Rome for 13 years. Mrs. Harder was married on September 29th, 1945 to Arthur George Harder who preceded her in death on July 25th, 2004.
Survivors include a brother, Charlie B. Keys of Rome; a niece, Becky Harrod of Wellington, Kansas; other survivors include special friends, Angelia McCary, Aline Conway, Bob Davis and members of the Shorter Avenue Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mrs. Harder will be held on Monday afternoon, January 7th, 2008 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Jon Sullivan officiating with interment to follow in the family lot of East View Cemetery.
Deacons of Shorter Avenue Baptist Church will serve as active and honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Harder will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Monday from 12 o'clock noon until the funeral hour.
