Julia Presley

Julia Self Presley, age 64, of #117 Berry Forest Drive, Rome, GA. died Monday evening, March 2, 2009 at her residence.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Presley was born on September 4th, 1944, the daughter of the late Olin T. and Katherine Harmon Self. She had spent her entire life in Rome, was a long time Christian and attended The Church at Northside. Mrs. Presley was a member of Red Hats Society, The Celanese Girls and The Bosum Buddies. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Presley was an assistant manager at Trust Company Bank where she was employed for more than 20 years.
Survivors include her husband, William Dexter Presley to whom she was married on April 17th, 1989, a daughter and son-in-law, Jodie and Noel Carper of Rome; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Shannon Sims of Taylorsville, Ga.; 1 step-daughter, Kim McAdams and her husband, Max of Rome; 1 step-son, Jeff Presley of Scottsville; 7 grandchildren, WhitneySmith, Kallan Carper,Alexis Smith, Ashley Sims, Christine Morris, Matthew and Jacob McAdams, 1 brother, Doug Self and his wife, Gloria of Rome; 1 brother-in-law, Terry Presley and his wife, Sharon of Duncanville, TX; her mother-in-law, Doris Presley of Armuchee. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Julia Self Presley will be held on Friday afternoon, March 6th, 2009 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Brad Prater and the Rev. Edward E. Holsomback officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Presley will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Thursday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Noel Carper, Max McAdams, Terry Presley, Mike Holt, Russell Burns and Jeff Caldwell.
